CANADIAN TRACTOR, COMBINE SALES DOWN 8% IN 2016

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturer's monthly "Flash Report," the sale of all tractors in Canada for December 2016, were down 2% compared to the same month last year.

For the twelve months in 2016, a total of 22,143 tractors were sold which compares to 24,220 sold in 2015 representing an 9% decrease year to date.

For the month, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) were up 17% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were down 14%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP were down 20%, while 4-wheel drive tractors were down 18%.

For the year, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) are down 8% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were down 5%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP were down 17%, while 4-wheel drive tractors were down 6%.

Combine sales were up 2% for the month. Sales of combines for the twelve months totaled 1,791, a decrease of 8% from 2015.
