CANADIAN 2WD TRACTOR SALES UP 23% IN JANUARY, COMBINES UP 127%

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturers' monthly "Flash Report," the sales of all tractors in Canada for January 2017 were up 2% compared to the same month last year.

For the year, a total of 1,367 tractors were sold, which compares to 1,364 sold through January 2016.

For the month, two-wheel-drive smaller tractor (under 40 HP) were up 23% from last year, and 40 & under 100 HP were down 4%. Sales of two-wheel-drive 100+ HP were down 31% from last year, and four-wheel-drive tractors were down 43% for the month.

For the year, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) were up 23% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were down 4%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP are down 31%, while 4-wheel drive tractors are down 43% for the year.

Combine sales were up 127% for the month. Sales of combines for the year totaled 84, an increase of 127% over the same period in 2016.
