PURDUE ANNOUNCES ITS "LARGE COMMERCIAL PRODUCER PROJECT"

The Large Commercial Producer Project returns to the 2017 National Conference for Food and Agribusiness!

The conference, held Nov. 7-8 on Purdue University's West Lafayette campus, will focus on the largest, longest-standing research study here at the Center for Food and Agricultural Business. Faculty experts are excited to share the project's survey findings.

Large Commercial Producer Project 2017

The center has conducted five major studies of commercial producers' buying behaviors over the past 25 years. The sixth survey is underway now. The objective is to understand preferences of large-scale agricultural producers when they interact with agricultural salespeople, retailers, lenders and manufacturers. It focuses on corn/soybean, wheat/barley, cotton, fruit/nut/vegetables, dairy, hog and cattle producers from across the United States.

The 2017 project's main themes:

Producer strategies
Information and salesperson preferences
Procurement processes
Buying preferences
Risk management
