TEXAS RANCHERS PERISH IN FIRES SAVING LIVESTOCK
Cattlenetwork reports:

Cody Crockett and Sydney Wallace (top photo), Sloan Everett (middle photo, left), and Cade Koch (bottom photo, left) all passed away during the Perryton Fire.
The Texas ranching community lost three highly-respected young members during Monday's raging wildfire in Gray County called the Perryton Fire, northeast of Amarillo. All three were working on the Franklin Ranch in an attempt to rescue cattle and horses. A fourth person died from the fire while driving home.

Sloan Everett, 35, was the son-in-law of the Franklin Ranch's owners, and he leaves behind two children and wife Liesl, who is pregnant with a third child. Graveside services for Everett were held Thursday, March 9, at the Franklin Ranch Cemetery in Gray County. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 11, at the First Baptist Church in Breckenridge, Texas.

Cody Crockett, 20, and his girlfriend Sydney Wallace, 22, also died as a result of the fire on the Franklin Ranch Monday. According to a report in the Amarillo Globe News, Crockett was from a longtime ranching family in McClean. He met Wallace when hospitalized for a horse riding injury. She was a nurse in the Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital emergency department and initially treated the cowboy who would become her boyfriend.

A YouCaring crowdfunding page was established to help the families of Crockett and Wallace with funeral expenses.

Seperate from the Franklin Ranch incident, a fourth victim, Cade Koch, 25, died of smoke inhalation Monday while driving home from work on Highway 305. A GoFundMe page is available to help with Koch's memorial services.
