CANADIAN 2WD TRACTORS SALES UP 21% IN FEBRUARY, COMBINES UP 30% FOR THE YEAR

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturers' monthly "Flash Report," the sales of all tractors in Canada for February 2017 were up 21% compared to the same month last year.

For the year, a total of 2,528 tractors were sold, which compares to 2,325 sold through February 2016.

For the month, two-wheel-drive smaller tractor (under 40 HP) were up 37% from last year, and 40 & under 100 HP were up 18%. Sales of two-wheel-drive 100+ HP were down 6% from last year, and four-wheel-drive tractors were up 25% for the month.

For the year, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) were up 29% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were up 4%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP are down 20%, while 4-wheel drive tractors are down 10% for the year.

Combine sales were down 15% for the month. Sales of combines for the year totaled 150, an increase of 30% over the same period in 2016.
