REFLECTIONS FROM A FIRST TIME EXHIBITOR AT THE COMMODITY CLASSIC
Source: by Ailish Tracy, Global Communications Manager, Plant Impact plc, Rothamsted, West Common Harpenden, Hertfordshire, U.K.

Now that the dust has settled, the exhibition stand is back in its box and I've had time to reflect, I'd like to share some thoughts on a very successful first visit to Commodity Classic. Fortalis, our new crop enhancement product had only launched in the US 2 weeks prior to the event, this is our first product in the US soybean market and, speaking personally (and as a Brit), CC2017 taught me a whole lot about the US ag landscape.

To me, soybean growers visiting CClassic seemed to be:
•in good spirits and cautiously optimistic about the future of their farms
•knowledgeable about existing farm management practices and available inputs
•using soybean fungicides as standard throughout much of the southern states
•keen to find new ways to improve return on investment
•limited in their understanding of the yield and plant physiological benefits of mobilising calcium within the soybean plant and interested in our video on calcium mobility
•bought into the benefits of trial data transparency and fullness that companies like Plant Impact provide
•looking for the "edge" that will push next season's yield and profitability higher
•more focused on ROI and higher profits in the medium term than simply cutting costs for the short term

And the agmedia representatives...
I also managed to meet with a handful of very engaged and extremely busy ag journalists to talk about the growing crop enhancement/biostimulant sector and Fortalis. My major memory from these meetings was one of very knowledgeable and friendly individuals with an almost impossibly vast landscape from which to mine for reader-relevant content. My hat goes off to you all - good luck with that backlog of potential stories on your notepad/s!
