SINGER NEIL YOUNG SAYS ETHANOL "A BEAUTIFUL FUEL," CALLS OUT OIL INDUSTRY
BrownfieldAgNews reports:

Grammy winning singer Neil Young called out the oil industry in a press event in Washington, DC, this week organized by the National Farmers Union. Young calls ethanol "a beautiful fuel" - but says there's no freedom of choice for consumers because of in his words, "big oil's monopoly"...

"There's no reason why every fuel stop that has more than four fuel pumps cannot have an E85 pump. There's just no reason for it. It gives American's the freedom to choose the fuel they use so that they can decide how much CO2 they want to put in the atmosphere."

Young said no one is paying him to support biofuels and called the current fuel situations a "disaster," "We have a very, very big problem," says Young, "The CO2 is going to get to be a huge issue in the next couple years. You have to look forward. Ethanol and other biofuels and cellulosic ethanol and biodiesel are the answer to this problem."

Young says he believes oil companies are behind the anti-ethanol campaign, "And the only thing about their product that is green is the money that goes into campaigns that pays for our representatives. We have to hold these people to task - they're OUR people, they're OUR representatives. Please don't let them forget who they work for."

Young recently traveled across the country in a vehicle powered by cellulosic ethanol and electricity.
