Formed in 2005, Henderson Communications specializes in providing information to agricultural businesses via its Agri Marketing magazine and related media, educational books and consulting.


Published since 1962, Agri Marketing is the only magazine that covers the unique interests of corporate agribusiness executives, their marketing communications agencies, the agricultural media, ag trade associations and other ag-related professionals.

Its audience annually sells products and services to the estimated $400 Billion United States and Canadian agricultural markets. Their products include crop protection chemicals, plant nutrients, farm equipment, seed/traits, animal health, feed, material handling and a multitude of others.

Nearly 8,000 subscribers receive the magazine that is published 9X per year and sent throughout the U.S. and Canada. The annual Agri Marketing Services Guide is published each December and is commonly referred to as the “Who’s Who” in the North American ag industry sector.

Agri Marketing is the official publication of the National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA) and is affiliated with the Canadian Agri-Marketing Association (CAMA), the American Business Media (ABM) Agri-Council, the National Association of Farm Broadcasting (NAFB), the American Agricultural Editors Association (AAEA), the Agricultural Relations Council (ARC) and the Livestock Publications Council (LPC).

Launched in 2000, Agri Marketing magazine's accompanying Web Site provides daily news updates about the industry, including key personnel changes, company acquisitions/mergers, new product announcements, marketing and sales programs, USDA news, ag-oriented company financial news and other topics of interest to the agricultural industry.

In addition, the Web Site contains archived issues of Agri Marketing magazine, a search engine, a schedule of North American Farm Shows and a calendar of ag-industry events.

The Web Site has over 13,000 unique visitors each month and averages over 3 million page views per year.


Located in the upper Right Hand corner of the portal page is a search engine enabling users to type in organizations, people or other key phrases. The search engine will deliver to the user all mentions of their search that have appeared in Agri Marketing media since 2000.


Located in the upper Left Hand corner of the portal page is a link to all issues of Agri Marketing magazine that have been published since 2000.

Delivered each week via e-mail, Agri Marketing Weekly is sent to 7,500 ag professionals. It includes a recap of the most important news within the industry during the prior week.

Immediately following its delivery to the printer, each issue of the magazine is available to be viewed online at

An e-mail is sent to subscribers alerting them to its availability. The Digital issue includes hot-links to Web sites and e-mail addresses for instantaneous communication. It also includes a search engine enabling the audience to search for organizations, names, etc. mentioned in that issue.

·"AgriSelling-Principles and Practices," by Dr. Dave Downey, Marilyn Holschuh and Michael Jackson. This 448-page book is utilized by many major agribusiness corporations and academic institutions for training its sales and marketing staff and/or students.

·"The Truth About Organic Foods," by Alex Avery. This 231-page book provides a fair and balanced look--from a scientific standpoint--about the heritage, production and nutritive value of organic foods.

St. Louis, Missouri-based Henderson Communications L.L.C. was formed in 2005 by Lynn Henderson who purchased Agri Marketing and its related properties from Doane Agricultural Services Company.

Prior to forming the company, Henderson was President/CEO of Doane--a leading provider of information and marketing advice to the agricultural and food/beverage industries.

Henderson currently is Chairman of the Dr. of Plant Medicine/Health Education Foundation and serves on the Board of Trustees of the National 4-H Council and the Board of Directors of the World Agricultural Forum (WAF). He is a member of the Farm Foundation, the National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA), the American Business Media (ABM) Agri-Council, National Association of Farm Broadcasting (NAFB), Ag Relations Council, American Agricultural Editors' Association (AAEA) and the St. Louis Agribusiness Club.

He is a past national President of NAMA and is a recent recipient of its R.C. Ferguson award that honors distinguished service to the agricultural industry. He has also received the awards presented to Outstanding Communicators by the Agricultural Retailers Association (ARA), Mid America CropLife Association (MACA) and the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ASFMRA).

He has served on the Board of Directors of the National Alliance of Independent Crop Consultants (NAICC), the national FFA Sponsors Board, and the Conservation Technology Information Center (CTIC). He has been active in the American Bankers Association (ABA), the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ASFMRA), the International Certified Crop Adviser (ICCA) program, and the Agricultural Retailers Association (ARA).

After receiving a B.S. in Agricultural Communications from Iowa State University, Henderson joined ACCO SEED (a legacy company of Mycogen Seeds) as its Communications Manager. He then joined Chicago-area based Century Communications, Inc., as VP/Publisher of its agricultural publications including Agri Marketing and AgriFinance (now known as AgProfessional and Ag Lender) before moving to the St. Louis area to head up Doane.
